RBA Interest Rate Announcement (Monetary Policy Decision)

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) meets on the first Tuesday of every month (except January) to finalise a decision on the interest rates.  When the RBA changes the cash rate (the official rate that lenders pay), this is normally passed on to the borrowers quite quickly.

However, lenders can move their rates outside of these movements and are not bound to match the RBA movements in the cash rate.
